Fifty More Days until Marathon Bahamas

IF you're a serious runner, include Marathon Bahamas 2011 to your winter racing schedule. However, regardless of your level of athletic competence, you can add Marathon Bahamas 2011 race weekend to your vacation schedule. In the less than a year since Is inaugural race, the line-up has evolved to include an entire weekend of activities, which organisers say will afford participants a complete immersion into the historic and diverse capital city. Organisers boast that once you've participated, the long time tourism mantra "It's Better in the Bahamas" will ring true for the active lifestyle sector as well. In fact, they have proof.

Race day of Marathon Bahamas 2010 saw hundreds of runners from far flung regions across the world congregate, commune and compete in paradise. Major sponsors, the Ministry of Tourism and Atlantis, lend expertise to support a unique local and visitor experience, which is scheduled to take place January 13-46 in New Providence. The certified 2011 race, which can be used as a qualifying race for the Boston marathon, will feature a new route, boasting scenery, history and excitement said to eclipse last year's course. Beginning at a more central location on Junkanoo Beach, West Bay Street's popular public access beach, formerly known as Long Wharf, runners will travel east into the sunrise destined for the Paradise Island Bridge. Panoramic views from the bridge will present stirring views of the city's landscape against an erupting skyline. As the sun rises to encompass New Providence, runners will traverse through segments of Paradise Island, a melting pot of Bahamian and international locale, before heading out over the second bridge and east towards Montagu. The course then delves deeper into history as it turns on to Shirley Street, where there are building's housing modern businesses which predate the country's independence. Half marathon participants will see their course end at the Nassau Beach Hotel on West Bay Street, however the, full marathon route will continue further west to Compass Point and then return to the finish line at Arawak Cay.

Here at Cycles we have everything you need for a race of this calibur, so come in and see what we have.
